Excuse me, is this a good time?

Do you know the time of your birth? Do you know if the time you were born was auspicious? If it was not, do you do you regret it? You skipped your meal because you were busy with work and by the time you decide to eat you notice that it is not the auspicious hour of the day. Do you starve? The doctor schedules a life- saving procedure on a loved one at a time when the calendar says is unsuitable. Do you reschedule? The job interview is in the middle of the inauspicious time of the day. Do you give it a miss? Do you breathe any less or any more during the “auspicious” or “inauspicious” parts of the day? Do you live different during the day despite the ebbs and flows of the good and “bad” times? If you answer “Yes” to any of these questions, I would like to know the reason why.   Time is the most expensive and perishable commodity in the world and why must people set apart time into good and bad? People these days cutting across faiths are checking the alman...

Small joys in life...

Life is beautiful because of the little things that we often overlook or take for granted. One such that spurred this post is my daily drive to school with my daughter. That half hour or so was not planned but it turned out that having settled for a school of our choice which was quite some distance away and not having enough occupants for a van it became a part of my daily routine when I am in the city. So what makes a school commute so special? -         ·          Probably it is because it is new only a month or so old ·          Probably it is because the drive is relatively smooth considering I leave by 8.15 am ·          Probably it is because I reach office nearly an hour earlier than usual and so I am fresh and ready for the daily work earlier than usual ·      ...

The temple car procession has provided a word to the English language juggernaut, phonetically it comes from the name of the presiding deity but goes to mean “something very powerful, usually with a bad effect”. If you have been to Puri, you will be amazed that the town or at least a great part of the town is controlled by the priestly clan who monitor your movements’ right from the train and they are deeply suspicious of ...

K.I.S.S

I have written an earlier post on the art of kissing . This is on just KISS, the keep it simple stupid one. Life tends to wear you out with its complexities and often in the muddle we miss out the bigger picture. The solution is to simply KISS. Yes keep it simple and focus on the basics. I do training modules for a hobby and one module that tends to get repeated is on Time Management. Time is perishable and always seems to be in short supply when it is most needed. I will like to share my KISS model of time management which is the gist of the actual module. The first and the biggest tool(s) for effective time management is a pen with a paper. Some words of wisdom before we begin. Watch this. “Failing to plan, is planning to fail” Here we go -                      LIST out ALL the activities that need to be completed on a sheet of paper -     ...
