Quo Vadis?

This post is part of the Chennai Bloggers Club's CBC VIBGYOR BLOG TAG 2 where some of us will write a post on the colours of VIBGYOR each day starting 1st of May to the 7th of May, 2020. The colour theme for today's post is YELLOW. If you have been reading my other posts in this series you will know that was partial to Yellow in school and then I expanded my views and preferences.                           Yellow to me is all about the sun. Though it may not be a primary colour, the sun is primary and essential to life. Our lives revolve around the sun as much as the earth revolves around it. I had posted about this earlier and I mentioned that the colour of my hand will probably be in the hands of my daughter and so far she has not noticed it. But others tend to notice. The other day as I was taking a lift along with the family the lift operator kept looking at me. I did not realize its significance till he tells the wife “Akka, anna has got a nice hair style, I like it”. This was a first and even before I could flash a triumphant look at D came the rejoinder “avar style thala madhiri irukku” in case you missed that it translates to “his style looks like head”.   Well it translates that way but it means that the hairstyle looks like that of an actor who goes by the title of “thala”. I suppose that is enough said on the topic. But I do take offense just because I trail a decade or so in age to “thala” does not mean that I follow his style. The IPL6 has been better I suppose simply by counting the number of nails I must have lost thanks to the last over heroics of the Chennai Super Kings. And there have been some performances that have ensured that mediocrity and excellence were adequately represented along with the average performances in between. After the CSK I am partial to the Royals from Rajasthan led by Rahul Dravid. This year they are leading the fair play award (just ahead of CSK) and have played quite well, especially in their desert fortress. I am hoping that they will make the playoffs along with the other surprise package the Sunrisers who have fought gamely with a decent side. I would be happy if they also do make it at the expense of the KKR who are busy shooting themselves in the foot constantly this year. The toss off should be between RCB & MI who should both qualify unless RR or SRH will otherwise. What should be a pleasant viewing exercise is getting disturbed by the attack on our aura...
