Fair and Handsome?! - My first facial

"A facial is a cosmetic treatment of the face, commonly involving a variety of skin treatments, grooming steps and deep cleansing of the face by various means including: steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, masks, peels, and massage. It is a common spa treatment." Do not use soap to clean the face, as they contain thickening agents that clog the pores. All those of you who have done a facial before, the above mentioned from Wiki would be well known but for a first timer like me it is news. I have heard talk of facials, bleaches, etc etc but I never foresaw a day when I would actually try it. Today the 19th of January is the day when I had my first facial because mum and D want me to look good for the wedding!!!!! Actually my hairdresser has been telling me for a long time now that I should try out the many beauty treatments (yuck!!!) he had. I have politely declined till date, but after much persuasion from mum and D, I decided to test the waters. I dutifully wen...

Still getting married

Image
It's that time when realization hits you and you wake up screaming, "Hey, I'm getting married!!!". It is just 3 days away and still there is so much to do. I look more like a vagabond than a groom-in-waiting and am scaring quite a few people, who fear I may have a nervous breakdown!!! : ) Thanks to my friends I have been able to finish most of the work but a few big "projects" are on  hold, hopefully I can do them asap. i did not know that inviting people could be so laborious, trust me its something that i would hopefully never do again atleast for another 25 years. Ok got to run, but keep us in your prayers and wish us luck!

“You never win the silver, you just lost the gold”

At a recent office party a couple of days ago, an outgoing senior of the bank in his farewell speech said the above mentioned. It was probably one of the highlights of the evening. The usual meet, drink, dance, eat, talk kind of office party that I generally avoid as I don’t drink and so free booze never excited me and the fact that I abhor cigarette smoke. Anyway the fun event of the evening apart from the DJ and his brand of Hindi music was a catwalk that made most of us including me to split up into teams and strut on stage to the tunes of the DJ with a 10 minute preparation. My team had 2 women (very unremarkable looking types, even though one was attempting to look sexy and generally failing) and a huge bunch of the typical non model type guys you can think of. The sex appeal was generally well distributed among the other 3 teams. So to suit our image we went on stage with a tapori style, you know the rolled up sleeves and kerchiefs around arms, necks and everywhere, messed up hai...

I do

It’s been more than a week and I have not posted anything, so it means that either I’m suffering from writer’s block or nothing much of note has happened or I’ve been busy. Take your pick and though there is no clear winner, the entire above mentioned have kept me away from Blogger. I managed to sneak a few minutes from work to pen this. Bells are ringing in the distance, not alarm bells (at least not yet!!!!), but wedding bells and what seemed so far away in the horizon is getting closer. A glance at the calendar tells me that it is only 10 days to D-day. Actually a colleague jolted me out of my near reverie when he said what in creation was keeping me at work when the wedding is only 10 days ahead. Actually it still is yet to sink in. I don’t know when I’m going to wake up screaming, but when it does, hope I don’t scare anyone. So much is done, but still new things keep coming up. And don’t know when my next post will come. But wish me luck. Hey just something for the singles to thin...

January Ahoy!

Janus is the Roman god of gates and doors (ianua), beginnings and endings, and hence represented with a double-faced head, each looking in opposite directions. He was worshipped at the beginning of the harvest time, planting, marriage, birth, and other types of beginnings, especially the beginnings of important events in a person's life. Janus also represents the transition between primitive life and civilization, between the countryside and the city, peace and war, and the growing-up of young people. Janus was represented with two faces, originally one face was bearded while the other was not (probably a symbol of the sun and the moon). Later both faces were bearded. In his right hand he holds a key. The double-faced head appears on many Roman coins, the likes of what you are seeing in the picture above. Hey people after that long prologue let me first wish you a belated but nevertheless very very happy new year. May the good Lord bless you and your loved ones with His choicest b...
