What is true love?

What is true love? A day before Valentine’s Day this is a valid question. Love is an ocean of emotions. Unfortunately the idiosyncrasies of English as a language has ensured several emotions labeled as love. This post is dedicated to the Feb14 classification of love, between a boy / girl & boy/ girl or man/woman & man/woman (today multiple scenarios are available).   However this question was posed yesterday to some college kids on radio and their relative inexperience showed in the shallow answers that followed.I smiled with a “been there done that” feeling. 

Today I know true love begins after the honeymoon ends.

It is not the big things that show true love but the little things that are lost in the whirlwind of life to all the others except the two in love. To others it may be even silly when they see these expressions of love as they are not the usual public displays of affection. True love needs no spectators and is not a spectacle.

To catch a dawn flight, to comply with the 90 minute check in, I mute the alarm so as to avoid waking her before I go to sleep. I wake to find that her alarm was set 15 minutes ahead, the coffee on the table and the breakfast on the stove.

True love is a blessing.

    How well you've expressed this. Wonderful. Sometimes the honeymoon never ends and so it's all bliss. Small insignificant acts as the one you've described constitutes love. And what better expression than that found in I Corinthians 13!

This was a crude translation of a proverb that comedian Karunas (as pointed out by Chriz ) made famous in one movie. The Tamil original runs thus, “Kazhutha ketta, kutti suvaru” so you have the translation. Silly Hindians, not knowing & not using are 2 different things. You don't know that many here know Hindi, you only know that we choose not to use Hindi, because it's our choice. Frankly it’s none of your business, what we wear or eat or speak. There is a lot of Hindi everywhere in Tamilnadu and often many are forced to use Hindi to communicate to the staff. If you observe closely there are many non native workers in Tamilnadu in the service industry. While many other states may have a welcoming attitude to people from other states who take up local jobs Tamilnadu has always welcomed them. Chennai or Madras has always been vaazha vaikkum Chennai, meaning it gives room for people to earn their bread in their chosen field. We still have Chinese dentists (the last few sadly) who don’t speak Mandarin here but Tamil to their patients in their clinics near Flower bazaar, Chennai. Battle of the movies - Annaathe Vs Jailer

  I watched Jailer yesterday and strangely my mind went back to Annaathe and I found that there are not too many dissimilarities in the two. For starters both are helmed by super star fan boys and who brought their adulation to the silver screen with varying levels of success. Secondly both movies can be clearly separated into two halves and both halves were significantly different. There are also few others I picked up so listing below my score card for the same.   1.       Title Both movies revolve around their titles and Annaathe was easier to understand, a local big man is called such and it is prevalent throughout the movie. In Jailer it comes to the fore only in a small and actually weak flash back. Annaathe – 1 Jailer – 0   2.      Family relationship bond Both movies were built on a family connect.
